Throughout Part 1, the reader gets a better understanding of what Big Brother actually is. Someone is always watching you, keeping an eye out on things. It was part of the thought that the communist country of Russia, always had their eye on you. Winston Smith, the protagonist of the novel, must live every part of his life a secret. As he does so, he takes risks not knowing if Big Brother is watching by writing in his diary. There is the ministry of love in charge of political torture, ministry of Peace in charge of wagering war, and the Ministry of Truth which controlled the history books and wrote party ideologies.
The thought that haveing someone always watching your every move has got to be a scary one. Not knowing when or how someone will come after you, to take you away everytime you may do something against the governments ruleing.
Ironically, after watching "Mr. Beans Holiday", I remembered how London is full of security cameras, and headquarters of multiple tv screens showing all roads and streets. Although the surveilence is not used like in "1984", it does show that you can be watched at all times being fully monitered.

You have a good attention getter, and you connect the world of 1984 to the modern society. One thing you may have to improve is the conclusion part.
good relation to reality and it was good at getting my attention, however conclusion could have been better.
Very strong Intro. and Body, however conclusion can be more conclusive
Striking examples from the novel supports points & grabs attention
Relating a personal experience (watching Mr. Bean’s Holiday) is usually effective, however for this piece of writing “I” is not generally the way to go
